This position assists System Analysts II with planning, designing, developing, and implementation of efficient information systems and operations of systems in support of core organizational functions. This position applies proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. Under general supervision, this position accepts, prioritizes and completes core system enhancement requests from internal members, meeting or exceeding projected timelines for project completion. Responsible for assigned project progress, smooth system operation, and quality of service of these areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Maintains databases on the in-house computer systems - live and test - by using the tool sets available (purge programs and jobs, DB General, and DB Util).
· Meets with end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
· Makes suggestions to management concerning cost savings and changes to increase efficiency of identified systems. Assist with research and analysis for proposed systems.
· Assists with and maintains the system report writing, system security, equipment maintenance, and release load processing.
· Serves as a Credit Union West resource for system problem resolution that will involve contacts with the credit union core system and other system vendors.
· Verifies the accuracy of computer generated reports and verifies reports that are generated in the report archive.
· Assists with the records retention process, and researches and recommends changes in the process.
· Cooperates with other departments and offices of the credit union, supporting the needs of all internal members.
· Participates in pager rotation. Includes month-end and year-end processing.
· Assists in the installation of computer hardware and software upgrades.
· Assists in the notification and training of appropriate employees within the credit union of changes to computerized processes.
· Performs all responsibilities within compliance and security requirements for the I.T. department.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Two year technical school degree or
business related degree. Additional computer related coursework
preferred. Current certification in all required programs preferred.
Required Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of network, PC operating systems and core
system. General understanding of the credit union’s products and services
and how they relate to the operating system.
A minimum of 1 year experience with core software applications.
At least 1 year experience in core system operations, computer hardware,
software, and peripherals.
